AS/A2
Photography provides a broad-based study of photographic techniques and the work of important photographers. You will learn how to take the photographs you want to take, developing a highly personal and exciting style, and how to manipulate images. Throughout the course you will study the work of other photographers. Alongside this you will participate in a series of discussions to widen your understanding of both the artistic and technical elements of photography. The course will provide you with excellent visual skills and an understanding of how images communicate. All students will need to have access to their own digital camera, and although some materials for the course are provided, some additional expense can be expected for additional film, mounting card, photographic paper and sketchbooks. Access to a single lens reflex camera will be advantageous.
