COURSE REQUIREMENTS
You will need a 35mm SLR digital or film camera for this course and basic knowledge of how to use it.
Learning Outcomes
6th February 2010
· Looking at basic camera equipment - what you really need in your camera bag.
· Exploring image composition rules and tips to improve your photographic imagery.
· Setting a theme to your work.
· visit to Cambridge city centre.
27th February 2010
· Getting the camera off programme mode and learning about the other functions it has.
· How to compensate for low light levels and preventing underexposure.
· The benfits of shooting in RAW.
· Setting a theme to your work.
· Visit to the Botanic Garden in Cambridge.
13th March 2010
· What is a photograph? Exploring themes and ideas behind creating photographic imagery.
· Looking at other artist's work for inspiration and ideas.
· Reviewing the work that you have taken so far.
· Setting a theme to your work.
· Visit to Cambridge city centre.
27th March 2010
· Selecting final images.
· Basic editing techniques; cropping, converting imagery to Black & White.
· Display options
You must bring imagery to this session, ideally prints and digital files.
Your Tutor
Tuuli Parker received a BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Design/Photography. She has worked professionally within the industry both commercially and in teaching. Currently she works as a fine art photographer and is employed at Hills Road Sixth Form College.
Day and time: Saturday 10am-1pm
Start date: 06 and 27 Feb - 13 and 27 March
Number of sessions: 4
Tuition fees: £55
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
Half term:
Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
