A minimum of 5 A C GCSE subject passes, including a minimum of 2 grade Bs, one to be in English Language.

Who is the course for?
This course is designed for students who enjoy reading and writing and have a genuine interest in how language and literature work.
What is the course about?
This is an interactive course which involves the integrated study of language and literature. You will look closely at the power of language in our everyday lives as well as in literary texts. There is a strongly creative element in the coursework.
Will I need anything else?
You will need to buy texts for the course - you can buy these through college.
How long & often do I attend?
You will attend for three lessons a week. You must meet the College attendance targets in order to progress.
How will I be assessed?
In both years one and two you will be assessed through 40% coursework which is internally assessed and externally moderated and 60% examinations which are externally assessed.
What opportunities will this lead to?
You could progress onto a BA Hons degree in English Language and/or Literature which could be combined with other subjects. Following on from this you could enter employment in journalism, the law, the media or teaching.
