The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2012 states that employers must give staff sufficient information and training before they work around asbestos.
Protecting workers from the dangers of asbestos is vital. According to the HSE, asbestos may be present in buildings constructed or refurbished before 2000. More than 50 percent of UK homes are likely to contain asbestos, and it is responsible for an estimated 5,000 deaths per year in the UK.
The purpose of our asbestos awareness course is to help employers fulfil their legal requirements and enable employees to work safely. Employers have a duty to provide adequate control of staff exposure to harmful substances in the workplace; our training course provides an awareness of the risks for workers likely to come into contact with asbestos. The course also covers the emergency procedures to be followed whenever asbestos fibres are disturbed or released.
