IN THIS COURSE, we’re going to learn how to sign complete sentences like “HE SEES FIVE SHEEP” and “TWO BEARS SMELL US” in American Sign Language (ASL). To do this, we need to learn pronouns, numbers, animal signs, and verbs. We’ll learn in parts and put the parts together to create complete sentences. Then, I’ll test you to see if you’re able to 1) sign correctly and 2) understand what is signed.

About this course
Students will learn how to sign the following vocabulary words: ANIMAL, BEAR, BIRD, CAT, COW, DEER, DOG, DOLPHIN, DONKEY, EAGLE, ELEPHANT, FISH, FOX, HORSE, LION, MONKEY, MOUSE, PIG, RABBIT, and SHARK.
Students will learn how to sign the numbers ZERO to TEN in ASL.
Students will learn how to sign the personal pronouns: I/ME, YOU, HE/SHE/IT, HIM/HER/IT, WE/US, THEY/THEM, and YOU (plural).
Students will learn how to sign the following verbs in ASL: HEAR, SEE, and SMELL.
Students will learn how to create combinations using the PRONOUNS, NUMBERS, ANIMALS, and VERBS to form and sign complete sentences.
Each individual sign will be taught step by step to ensure correct hand position and hand shape.
Students will be tested on their ability to sign and recognize ALL material taught in the course including full sentences.
