Suitable for: The level 3 Award is intended for people who assess occupational competence in an individuals work environment. The level 3 certificate in Assessing the Quality of Assessment is a 15 credit, 84 guided learning hours (GLH) qualfication consiting of 3 mandatory units. This certificate is for those who use assessment methods and need to be qualified in all aspects of assessment (this qualification is the most like the A1 award).

Mandatory Units
1 Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
2 Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment
3 Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding
Candidates need to assess at least 2 candidates. They need to assess one of them to completion of two units and one of them to completion of one unit (which is the same as the first candidate). They also need to be involved in standardisation meetings.
Assessment - Assessment takes place through evaluation of work-based performance, presenting evidence, witness testimony and questioning. A portfolio of evidence is produced which demonstrates that the candidate can perform to the level described. Participants will all have a vocationally competent QCF (NVQ) Diploma assessor who will help assemble the portfolio and prepare for assessment. In addition the candidates will have access to email and telephone support throughout their QCF (NVQ) Diploma programme together with resources as required.
How long will it take? There are no fixed periods for completion, however depending on experience most participants complete within 6-7 months.
Progression On completion of this program candidates are able to progress on to Assuring the Quality of Assessment (V1) award.
