Entry Requirement

The minimum entry requirements are two ‘A’ levels and three GCSE in five separate subjects, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent.

Individuals over 21 years who do not meet the minimum entry requirements may register through the Mature Student Entry Route (MSER). This is designed for students who have the maturity and skills to deal with the ACCA Qualification instead of first undertaking the Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification. MSER students must pass the equivalent of Paper F2, Management Accounting and Paper F3, Financial Accounting within two years of registering.

About ACCA Exams

The structure of examinations varies within and between modules and levels. The Fundamentals level examinations contain 100% compulsory questions to encourage candidates to study across the breadth of each syllabus.

The Knowledge module is assessed by equivalent two-hour paper based and computer based examinations. The Skills module examinations are all paper based three-hour papers.

The Professional level papers are all three-hour paper based examinations, all containing two sections. Section A is compulsory, but there will be some choice offered in Section B.

The Essentials module papers all have a Section A containing a major case study question with all requirements to this case. Section B gives students a choice of two from three questions.

A maximum of nine papers in the Fundamentals level are available for exemption.

Route to MBA

ACCA and Oxford Brookes University have combined their strengths as leaders in international education to produce an MBA program specifically designed for ACCA members. Accredited by AMBA (Association of MBAs) the program offers a flexible approach to completing an MBA.

With an accelerated-entry route for ACCA members, the MBA program recognises candidate status as a ‘finance professional’ and gives credit for the expertise they have already gained through professional studies. This allows the program to be completed in as little as 21 months, and can be counted towards ACCA’s CPD requirements.
