Entry Requirements:
- Basic computer skills
- Previous experience of using Computer Aided Design packages, in particular AutoCAD.
- The course is aimed at professionals working in the Construction Industry.
Course Aims:
Students will be trained to meet the emerging demands of clients, i.e. to view building and interior designs in a 3D medium. This course will be of use to building designers, interior designers and graphical illustrators.
Content:
Course includes:
- Create 3D computer models of buildings using ADT tools including wall, window, door and roof commands
- Utilise simple 3D solid modelling techniques to provide increased detail to a computer model, e.g. gutters, chimneys, fireplaces etc.
Assessment: Assessment is portfolio based and is continuous throughout the course.
Special Features: This is a specialist course using Autodesk's Architectural Desktop (ADT). Introduction to the concept of intelligent building models and virtual construction. Models created in Architectural Desktop can be visualised and animated in other packages like Viz Render and 3D studio Viz/Max.
Progression: Successful completion of the course will enable students to progress to further study on 3D Studio Viz for Building Visualisation.
