2. Course description If you're passionate about helping people and want to work in the airline industry, this Level 2 Aviation Package Diploma is a fantastic two-year course that will help you explore a variety of roles in the sector, learn the relevant skills for each, and decide where you'd like to work in the future. You'll get a complete introduction to airline and aviation operations, learning all about health, safety & security, emergency procedures in the industry and the specialist communications used in this sector. You'll explore all the duties of air cabin crew and the services they must provide, as well as focusing on check in services, handling baggage, and how to deal with special status passengers. As you learn more about the ground crew at an airport, you'll look at loading and dispatch methods for an aircraft, as well as boarding, arrivals and marshalling procedures. You'll get to work with real aircraft crew, and use a fully equipped aircraft cabin, galley and check in area right here at The Manchester College. 3. Entry requirements For this Aviation Package Diploma, You are required to have 4 GCSE's grades D or higher including English or Maths (Grade 3) or attainment at level 1. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method We use a variety of different methods for this course, spaced through the two years you'll be studying with us. These including written coursework, presentations, reports, controlled assessments, role plays and practical demonstrations. You might also need to demonstrate your ability to tread water and take part in emergency evacuation drills as part of the assessment process, in line with airline training protocol. Work experience, such as volunteering and other extra-curricular activities is also a requirement, and this might include evenings and weekends.
