Economics is fundamentally concerned with how we use resources and covers a range of issues such as employment, prices, the distribution of income and wealth, government spending on services, investment, productivity and growth, international trade and finance. It is also a discipline that develops the transferable skills that are highly-valued by employers such as analytical and numerical skills, problem-solving and the ability to interpret data and understand and extract information.

Year 3
If you are on the placement route, you will undertake a minimum of 36 weeks' work experience between Year 2 and Year 3 of your studies.
If you are on the full-time route, you will progress directly into Year 3.
In Year 3 of the BA you study four 30-credit units (two core and two elective). Your core units depend on the focus of your studies. In addition, students choose from a range of elective units within their specialism.
