Course programme

Course Content

In each year of study you will take two thirds of your modules in languages (normally a third in each language), with the remaining third devoted to modules in marketing. Each language is split into modules which cover practical language skills or cultural knowledge. The rest of your modules concentrate on the theoretical aspects of marketing communications, dealing with buyer behaviour and how organisations communicate with their audience. As you progress, you will learn how to develop strategies in an organisational situation and explore marketing and communications in the context of the international business environment.

The third year of the degree is spent abroad, with up to six months in each country of the language you are studying. This will probably be one of the most exciting and challenging years you will ever have. You will experience a dramatic improvement in your spoken languages, giving you greater confidence and more mature insights into life in your chosen countries.

You can also work in a school as a language assistant, or work in industry or commerce. All of our language degrees offer the opportunity to add a new language as a 20-credit free elective module. There’s also the option of sitting exams with both the French and Spanish Chamber of Commerce, gaining an additional qualification.
