About this course

Successful applicants would normally be expected to meet the
following requierements:
Minimum age 18, and
A minimum of 160 UCAS tariff points, and
GCSE Maths and English Language at grade C or above, or
For applications from mature students (aged 21 and above),
we also consider work and life experience. In such cases, SAE
Institute requires applicants to provide satisfactory evidence of
their ability to successfully complete the programme.

Educating audio engineers and music producers for over 30 years, SAE Institute is where a career in Audio Production begins. From music production to application of sound in media, the audio production degree prepares you to enter the audio industry 'out of the box ready' to take on work.

The Audio Production Programme offers students the opportunity to study all aspects of audio engineering. It is designed to train future professionals for the audio and media industries.

The hands-on practical ethos offers individual studio time supported by one to one mentors. This enables you to bring the theory, concepts and tools together with your creativity in a variety of fields; from studio recording on large format consoles to sound design and editing, using a variety of platforms including ProTools and Apple Logic.

The Programme is designed to prepare graduates for work in audio production for music, TV, film, multimedia, web streaming, broadcast audio and live events. This requires a broad knowledge
of audio technology and a wide variety of skills in recording, editing, mixing and mastering audio. Studio setups found in the industry range from small home studios to a variety of large format consoles in commercial recording studios. This course provides the required diversity and professionalism in equipment, skills and theory topics. Students acquire essential theory and practical experience in order to be well prepared for work in the industry.
