Arden’s BA (Hons) Business Degree is available to study with an Integrated Foundation Year. Studied over four years, this programme is perfect to prepare you for success at Undergraduate level.
The foundation year will equip you with the essential skills needed to embark on your Undergraduate Degree in Business, including basic numeracy, academic and research skills. You'll study via our Blended Learning programme, which combines flexible online study with 2 days of lectures a week at one of our study centres in Manchester, Birmingham or London.
With this course you’ll develop the management skills you need for success in the workplace while exploring both the internal and external business environment. Covering the basics of business, management skills, principles of marketing, analysis and crucially, managing change. When you complete your BA (Hons) Business degree with a foundation year you will be prepared for the modern business world.

About this course
This BA (Hons) Business Degree with Foundation Year at Arden will take you four years to complete. Once you’ve successfully completed the programme, you’ll graduate with an Undergraduate Degree with Chartered Management Institute(CMI) accreditation.
You’ll have the opportunity to apply for Chartered Manager status from the CMI upon completion of this Degree. This professionally-recognised accreditation will give you the extra edge when you begin to embark on a career in any area of business management.

Study skills
During the first 6 weeks (Block 1) you will also attend 4 study skills workshops, providing advice and guidance to help you achieve university success. Sessions may include Reading & Note-Taking, iLearn Online Library, Referencing & Plagiarism and Approaching Assignments. This will bring your weekly class time up to 9.5 hours a week for Block 1. The following study blocks will be the usual 8 hours classroom time (+online tuition and self-guided study time).

We use a wide range of assessment methods at Arden to give you the opportunity to demonstrate a wide range of strengths, these could include: Assignments, Case Studies, Reports Business Plans, Business Idea Pitches, Group Presentations, and a Dissertation.
To support your development and ensure you are on the right track with your studies we will provide you with tutor feedback on every assessment you submit.
If required, your tutor may be able to give you suggestions for improvement and help you understand how to apply your newly acquired skills into real life settings.
