BA (Hons) Creative Media Practice (Photography / Moving Image)

About this Course (This course is validated by the University of Brighton and delivered by Northbrook College)UCAS code: W6PFThis course has been designed to enable students to achieve intellectual, innovative, creative and practical skills commensurate with BA (Hons) study and to engage successfully with the world of professional practice and enterprise. Students can elect to study within one of two specialisms: Moving Image or Photography (Fashion, Advertising and Editorial). This programme will build on the skills and knowledge they have acquired during their FdA or HND and allow them to develop, promote and engage in increasingly âliveâ projects that provide a bridge to the world of work. The course aims to encourage entrepreneurial skills, autonomy and independent practice; engaging in enterprise that directly interacts with the creative media sphere, working on achieving professional work, career development and enriched contacts within industry. The changing cultural/technological evolution of photographic and filmic work will be explored and addressed within the course structure with specific regard to the convergent nature of the pathway disciplines and how they are continually influencing, reacting and engaging with each other. Students will build on the digital skills acquired during their FdA or HND studies to engage with establishing their own web presence and promoting their work through social and professional media. Students who undertake the BA (Hons) will be working with practitioners - both from the College academic staff, who have specialist experience in the professional sphere, and a range of visiting practitioners.
