This course will expose students to new and experimental ways of working, to offer the opportunity to both broaden contextual and critical understanding and develop their own specialised creative practice... By undertaking a substantial audio project, students develop a professional portfolio centrepiece and work towards maintaining a sustainable practice which anticipates, as well as responds to on going changes within the music industry and wider arts... During the course you will produce an album within a chosen genre and create interactive sound art installations.. You will study the advancement of new studio-recording methods and techniques and generative works using audio/visual programming languages.. You will also look at socio-political sound-based critical studies and create surround sound works for films or video games... Split over four modules, the course content offers the ability to refine existing academic and intellectual skills, as well as provides scope for development of innovative approaches to music production. The largest of these modules invites you to create a substantial audio portfolio in line with your own personal creative practice.
