This course will provide you with an understanding of the criminal act and the response of the State, criminal motivation, the gathering of scientific evidence, the workings of the criminal justice and penal systems in the UK and policing.

A key strength of this course is the Reflections on Work in the Criminological Field module, where you will typically work in areas such as youth offending, victim support, crime prevention, witness support and various policing support roles, including as special constables.
