Event management is a fascinating career that can see you working on inspiring projects all over the world. It’s an exciting, practical degree course that explores the latest trends and practices in the events management, tourism and hospitality business. It’s also ranked inside the top 20 of the Guardian University League Table 2018 for tourism, hospitality and event management. Our course draws on the latest theories and global case studies to explore why some events succeed and others fail. You’ll learn about event marketing, risk and security and hospitality operations. You’ll also have the chance to study abroad in one of our partner universities worldwide and to take an optional six-month internship at Walt Disney World, Florida, and study at the University of California Riverside.

Our graduates go on to careers including events planning, hospitality management and marketing, often working for large travel companies, hospitality businesses and airlines. At Hertfordshire Business School, we have strong relationships with organisations across the event management industry, including Walt Disney, creating valuable placement opportunities every year.
In the past, our students have also enjoyed placements with businesses and charities who manage corporate events, sports fixtures, concerts, shows and festivals, including Bluehat Group, the British Fashion Council, Givergy and charities including Hope for Children.
