The course is designed to build on your previously acquired knowledge and skills, allowing advanced entry into Year 3 of a degree programme. The aims of the course are to: Provide you with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of issues influencing the effective delivery of human resource management and accounting policy and practice. Integrate your learning into an analytical, problem-solving, creative approach in relation to the challenges and changes facing the human resource management and financial management sector. Develop your employability and transferable skills which will enable you to progress your existing career and contribute effectively in a business situation. Should you wish to proceed to Year 4 (the Honours year) you’ll undertake further study in key areas together with an independent research dissertation which will allow you to consolidate your knowledge, skills, practices and develop your ability to analyse complex problems and issues in these areas. An essential skill for HR and line managers is an ability to analyse and apply financial data to improve decision making and contribute to organisational success. This course quips you with an understanding of the preparation and interpretation of financial information and the application of this to management decision-making, planning & control and performance evaluation. This is a full-time course studied over two years. You’ll learn by a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials and through independent study.
