The course provide a rigorous and wide-ranging study of politics, combined with a significant grounding in economics. It covers political theory; political history; comparative political analysis; area studies; international relations. The economics modules examine decision-making in the context of a market economy, and the institutional supports for such an economy to operate effectively. The degree will equip students for a wide range of careers, including working in international organisations.Students will develop important skills of value to employers: the ability to analyse concepts, write well, assess published work, communicate (including making oral presentations), determine the validity of opposing points of view, and undertake independent research.
