The course will cover:
• Principles, history and benefits of baby yoga
• Preparing your baby yoga sessions
• Health & Safety
• Anatomy and physiology (relating to infant development)
• Health considerations for baby yoga classes
• Baby yoga stretches and moves
• Baby yoga to aid development
• Breathing techniques
• Using songs and rhymes
• Using sensory play in sessions
• Teaching groups and individuals
• Delivering baby yoga courses
This course will provide practitioners with the knowledge and teaching ability to safely and effectively deliver baby yoga sessions and courses to groups and individuals. Baby yoga uses gentle stretches and movements and incorporates over clothes massage, breathing techniques, stretching and movements. It also incorporates the use of songs, rhymes and actions and sensory play.
Baby Yoga can be used from around 8 weeks (after their 6-8 week check with the GP or Health Visitor) and on into the Early Years. Parents attend classes with their babies from around 8 weeks up until the babies are walking (around 12 months).
To complete this course, you will need to complete a group case studies with 4 parents and babies. We deliver this as a 3 day attendance course. On successful completion, you will receive a Diploma in Teaching Baby Yoga (Instructor Course).
Please note this is not a 'hands on' yoga qualification (You will not be qualified to teach adults yoga or do baby yoga with babies). This course will qualify you to teach parents to do baby yoga their babies.
