About this Course
Have you thought about starting your own business or working within an enterprising context?
The course is designed to underpin future careers as entrepreneurs, innovation and enterprise researchers; or working within a dynamic business environment.
This course covers three areas of study: The entrepreneurial self in a range of different business contexts The development of entrepreneurial skills The practical application of extended entrepreneurial activity
Course Summary
Whilst on the course you will develop your academic and practical skills to enable you to: Demonstrate an understanding of how key organisations function, processes and structures contribute to organisational effectiveness Understand the components of entrepreneurial effectiveness in the context of start-ups, small business and social enterprise Structure, design and apply tools or research, analysis and decision making to evaluate opportunities and risks Demonstrate enterprising behaviours, skills and attributes, such as the ability to seek out and act on opportunity and manage projects independently Employability skills are a central focus of the course and include subject specific and generic skills and attributes. Soft skills such as communication, teamwork, presentation and people skills will be systematically developed as part of this course.

Course programme
This course will provide you with the opportunity to consider business start-up options, apply enterprise and innovation concepts to a particular business or sector or to a social enterprise sector.
It will enable you to ultimately decide your own study path which is directed towards your end goal.
We have developed strong links with a range of enterprise organisations and a key assessment method will be the use of live briefs which link to enterprising projects in the local area.
Entry requirements
Successful completion of a Level 3 programme (three A-levels at C or above) or a BTEC (or equivalent) with a minimum Distinction, Merit, Merit profile.
Relevant work experience would also be an advantage.
