About this Course
This course is an exciting, fashion-focused and challenging course for designers and creative thinkers to develop their knowledge and management skills in the field of fashion.
You will learn about the fashion industry, emerging trends, the fashion retail environment and the enterprising world of managing your own business from our diverse base of professional staff and visiting lecturers.
Course Summary
The three year programme offers a strong emphasis on practical fashion skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding. Students on the programme will develop their skills through a wide range of practical projects which will involve working to briefs set both internally and by external clients.
This course is project led and is delivered through a set of modules in each semester, credit points are accrued enabling progression into the next semester.
It allows learners to select one of two specialist pathways under the umbrella title of BA (Hons) Fashion: Fashion Design and Realisation (FD&R) - a creative introduction to fashion design and the fashion industry, encouraging self-confidence in design, pattern cutting and production Or Fashion Concepts and Communications (FC&C) - a creative introduction to fashion design and the fashion industry, encouraging self-confidence in conceptual fashion design, communication and promotion

Course programme
At Rotherham College we provide smaller study groups with training from industry professionals in industry settings. Our connections will allow you to gain the latest skills and knowledge needed to be successful in the fashion industry.
There will be visits to exhibitions, museums and galleries, giving you the chance to draw inspiration. You will also have the opportunity to showcase your work at the end of year fashion shows.
Entry requirements
A minimum of 160 UCAS points from a combination of the following:
- Minimum of 2 GCE A-Levels to include an art based subject
- BTEC Extended Diploma with Merits
- GCSE Maths and English
- Access – Pass at Level 3
- Diploma in Foundation Studies – Pass
- GNVQ Advanced in Art and Design
