Have you ever thought that a simple loom (knitting machine), which had been used long before Christ, is not that simple from the technical point of view. Even "Lexus" and "Mercedes" automobiles mechanical parts are much simpler than those of the loom. It is necessary to ensure right trajectories for the appropriate intertwining of threads and symmetrical patterns. Even the antique weavers tried to create three-dimensional views. Today, with the development of technologies and knitting machine constructions textile patterns are sometimes stunning.
Mechanical Engineering studies provide knowledge about various, even very complex, mechanical devices and technological machines design and exploitation. To put it differently, mechanical engineers design and manufacture production equipment and devices, such as looms and other technological machines that are used for the production of goods.
This study programme is aimed at preparing future mechanical system designers and production organizers. They are able to apply the newest technological achievements, IT, and understand fundamental mechanics engineering principles and processes.
Mechanical Engineering study programme meets foreign investors' needs and won 2017 "Investors' Spotlight" quality mark of the Baltic Investors Forum.
Equipments and Systems of Alternative Energetics. This specialization is intended to prepare designers, researchers, alternative energetics and systems engineers, who are able to reasonably use energy sources. These specialists design and evaluate alternative energetics equipment, adjust it to consumers' needs and the environment. The knowledge of energetics, environmental protection and mechanics allows them to successfully create high efficiency equipment that meets the sustainable environment principles.
