The Bachelor of Music, Performance degree program balances and integrates the academic and performance requirements for music with general education requirements. If you are a graduate of the Vancouver Academy of Music Diploma Program (British Columbia) or a graduate of The Glenn Gould School: The Royal Conservatory Performance Diploma Program (Ontario), you are eligible for this program.

You can attain an undergraduate degree in a field you love, prepare to meet admission requirements for a master’s program or enhance your employability and your understanding of music performance.

Course programme

General education requirements (21 credits)

May be met with lower- or upper-level university courses; refer to the General Education requirements for arts and science degree programs:
  • Six credits in English (university-level composition and literature), excluding technical- and business-writing courses
  • Six credits in humanities, excluding music history and English
  • Three credits in mathematics (including statistics) and/or science
  • Six credits in social science

Also, before you register in a course not listed on the OL website, you must apply for a letter of permission. Otherwise, you may find that either course credits cannot be applied to your program or you must pay a transcript reassessment fee.
