Description
Welcome to Barrow-in-Furness Sixth Form College Barrow Sixth Form College the only sixth form college in Cumbria and admits students from a large part of the south of the County. It occupies a pleasant suburban site close to Furness Abbey. The College specialises in the education of 16 - 19 year olds and this is reflected in its ethos. The College aims to provide a stepping stone for students between school and higher education or work. Each year over 250 students progress to university; the specialist support systems available to students incorporate detailed guidance on making HE applications as well as preparation for the world of work. The College is about to completely redevelop its campus and, subject to planning permission, will move into a new building on the Rating Lane site in Summer 2010. The building will incorporate the best of design features and provide the highest standard of educational facilities to meet the demands of an ever evolving educational curriculum.
