On completion of this course, delegates should be able to:
- State the formula for fires (The triangle of combustion).
- List the causes of fires and state the classification of fires.
- Explain how fires spread.
- Describe the methods of extinguishing fires.
- List the safety precautions to be taken when working in a gaseous atmosphere or suspected gaseous atmosphere.
- Explain the need to carry out a Risk assessment when dealing with a gaseous atmosphere/fire.
- Explain the colour coding of fire extinguishers.
- Demonstrate the correct use of portable firefighting equipment to extinguish a Class A Fire.
