Basic Hydraulics

Course Objectives
Successful candidates will demonstrate competence in:

  • the application of safe working practices when working with hydraulic systems
  • understanding the principles of hydraulically-operated equipment together with basic underpinning knowledge of flow pressure and force
  • understanding the purpose and operation of components commonly used in industry (pumps, manifolds, control valves, check valves, rams, cylinders and motors)
  • understanding hydraulic symbols and reading basic hydraulic circuit diagrams
  • correctly assembling and operating basic hydraulic circuits

Certification
Successful completion of the course leads to the award of a L.I.T.S. Ltd competence-based certificate.
