Suitable for: Nurses and healthcare assistants/support workers
All candidates who participate in this course must demonstrate practically their competence at performing the sequence of basic life support on the adult and paediatric resuscitation manikins

Content
- Definition of basic life support
- DRSABC: danger, response, shout, airway, breathing, circulation
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
- The care of an unconscious casualty
- The recovery position
- Dealing with choking and asphyxia
- Practical demonstration and use of resuscitation manikins
This course:
- Is assessed and certificated in line with UK Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2006 (HSE-recognised)
- Carries a CodeBlue Education Certificate (HSE-recognised)
