The basic Surveillance training course is ideal for security professionals who wish to broaden their employment opportunities or enhance their personal skills for their chosen careers. It is designed to give an introduction to Surveillance that will provide the Surveillance operative with a sound base on which to develop their career or provide the Close Protection Operative (CPO) with the ability to recognise Surveillance in order to conduct Counter Surveillance.
- Core module looks at the types of surveillance and the requirements of a surveillance operative.
- Planning and Preparation module defines the best practice for Recce and briefings, setting the surveillance objectives, resource requirements and legal requirements including RIPA authority.
- Communications module sets out the requirements for effective communication using Voice Procedure and net discipline. The covert carriage and use of radio's on foot and in vehicles. The voice procedure used demonstrates the main styles used in the commercial market.
- Basic Navigation introduces the student to the maps and navigation aids available to the Surveillance operative.
- Foot Surveillance module will teach and practice the Pick up, Follow and Housing stages of Covert Surveillance with an emphasis on the ABC foot surveillance techniques, cornering drills and the stop and plot.
- Mobile Surveillance module will teach and practice the Pick up, Follow and Housing stages of Surveillance with an emphasis on techniques for following the subject in vehicles whilst remaining covert.
- Log keeping gives a basic insight into the legislation requirements of recording observations with a view to presenting evidence in court.
