ECDL Essentials is a Level 1 ITQ Award and consists of 3 modules designed to give a basic introduction to computing with relevant skills in using the basic tools required for an IT user today. The qualification will help you to develop competency and confidence in essential basic IT skills. Suitable for: This qualification is ideal for novice computer users wishing to demonstrate and improve their computing skills for the benefit of themselves and future employers. The basic ECDL qualification is broken down into two levels: ECDL Essentials and ECDL Extra which can be taken individually to obtain single certificates, or together to achieve the overall ECDL qualification.

This is not intended as a total beginners’ course so it is essential that you have used a computer before and have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft applications. It is strongly recommended that you have first achieved an entry level ICT qualification such as E-qualskills.
