CLAIT - Computer Literacy & Information Technology

A 20 week course covering 3 units: Word Processing / File Management, Spreadsheets / Graphs, Creation (Publisher)

Course Outline:

To gain competence in:

Word Processing - producing documents, using Editing and Formating skills and Creating/Moving/Copying Files and Folders.

Spreadsheets - creating Spreadsheets, producing variety of Visual Graphs and Charts.

Publisher - creating documents using Columns, Word Art and Clip Arts.

The student will learn through tutor demonstrations, practical demonstrations, hand outs, help sheets and one to one support from the tutor.

It is recommended that learners have a basic knowledge of IT or have attended a beginners IT course. There is a fair amount of typing involved in the Word Processing unit, so keyboard skills are an advantage.

There is no homework as such, but students are encouraged to practise their skills in between lessons, if possible.

Please bring along a note book, pen and a folder or document wallet in which to keep course handouts and exercise sheets.
