Course programme

This Business course is taught by a barrister, to ensure that our students are properly appraised of many aspects of the law relating to operating a successful nail and beauty business. The course includes industry-standard knowledge and skills and is suitable for a variety of students: employees, alreading working in the beauty trade and who want to know more about the business aspects of salons and other beauty occupations; managers, looking to improve their business knowledge and seeking to improve the potential earnings of the business; and students, intent on successfully creating their own salon or nail and beauty business. Knowledge is power.

This course aims to build students confidence when dealing with business situations and business management.

We have a barrister to guide students through the legal aspects of starting or operating a nail and beauty business.

The course will involve:

  • Managing clients.
  • Advertising your business - the most lucrative places to advertise your business and how to find the deal that will prove to be the most economically rewarding.
  • Effective retailing.
  • Dealing with tax and book-keeping.
  • Guidance on limited liability company insurance, occupiers liability and personal injury issues.
  • Information on complying with the Business Names Act and other British Companies Legislation and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Without knowledge of the above, many find starting and operating a business difficult, and often waste more money than they need to. This course is essential for all those intending to operate a successful nail and/or beauty business. A small investment now can save a lot of time, worry and money.
