Content * Learning takes place in salons, receptions and classrooms using demonstrations, practical workshops, work packages, theory and practical sessions, the salons operate as a business in order to provide a realistic working environment. * Health and Safety, Reception, Teamwork, Promotion and Consultation, Hygiene, Legislation, Make-up, manicure/pedicure, Lash and brow treatments. * Retailing , Customer care, Facial massage and skin care, Waxing, Ear piercing Learning takes place in the sal ons, receptions and classrooms using demonstrations, practical workshops, theory lessons, work packs and practical sessions. The salons operate as a business in order to provide a realistic working environment. Students learn and practice on each other before working on paying clients. Assessment By continual assessment throughout the course using unit end tests, assignments, pratical assessments on paying clients, case studies and an externally set tests at the end of each unit . Evidence is collected in a large portfolio, which is cross-referenced to an assessment book Qualifications Gained - VTCT NVQ in Beauty Therapy at Level 2 (There may also be the opportunity to gain an additional unit in ear piercing) Progression * NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy * Body Massage Certificate * Employment in salons, department stores etc
