This course is for those who lack confidence in their use of Mac whether you are just starting to use a computer or have been using one for a while but don’t feel able to get the most out of the Mac OS X operating system. This course will help you to look at how the computer works and how you can work best with it. You will learn the features that make the Mac operating system the most powerful and easiest to use OS and elevate your understanding from basic user to intermediate user. You will also learn how to organise system preferences and achieve easily with applications. Finally, you will learn how to trouble-shoot problems and not panic if things seem to go round!

• Get to meet the Mac Operating System• Use Finder to work with files - eg quick look, different viewing options• Customise your Toolbar and organise your Desktop• Set up your Mac to sleep, shutdown and log out of accounts• Create folders and label your documents and folders• Open applications from the Dock and customise your Dock• Move, copy and delete files from your home folder and empting the trash• Switch between Applications using showing and hiding applications• Use common keyboard shortcuts• Solve troubleshooting problems.
Please bring a folder, pens and paper.
Each student has their own computer. Presentations will be made using computers, interactive whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes. Step-by-step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts. Classes are taught in British Sign Language, and written English.
