The aim of this course is to give students a solid grounding in French allowing them to feel comfortable speaking French in everyday situations whislt on holiday in France. Suitable for: The course is suitable for complete beginners in French or those who may have studied some French many years ago when they were studying at school. Students wishing to study basic grammar and refresh the French that they may have studied in the past will benefit most from this course.

Course programme

This course is designed to give students an intoroduction to the language. The intial class takes the from of an assessment lessson. This alllows the teacher to have a much better understanding of the students strengths and weaknesses. After the initial lesson a tailor-made course is then created to the specific requirements of the student. The majority of our Beginners 1 to 1 French courses are designed with the objective of building the confidence of students so that the feel confident speaking in French when having to carry out basic tasks or hold basic conversations with native speakers. During the course students should expect to cover the following areas.


  • talk about themselves, interests & background
  • Book/check in to hotels
  • Find your way around abroad and ask directions
  • Change money
  • Buy gifts/food /clothes in shops
  • Order drinks & food in restaurants
  • Buy train/bus/plane tickets
  • Basic telephone skills


    Students will also be give a very sound foundation in French Grammar covering just some of the following areas


  • Introduction to the Present, Past & Future tenses
  • The definite and indefinite article
  • Adjectival agreements
  • Pronouns
  • Word order


    Listening activities will also be carried out using Cds and prounciation will also be focused on.

    The majority of the teaching is conducted in the target language and the teacher is a native speaker

    Support: The course can be paid for in full entitling the student to a 10% course tuition fee discount otherwise courses can be paid for in 2 or 3 instalments over the first 2 or months of the course.
