The Level 3 Basic Expedition Leaders award is a nationally recognised qualification (Sports Leaders UK) that trains and qualifies teachers, youth workers and other members of the community to:
Lead walking groups in lowland countryside
Teach the knowledge and skills needed to undertake a day walk 
Have responsibility for others, while leading a day walk in the countryside 
Plan and lead overnight base and mobile camps.

About this course

To allow delegates to lead groups within the remit of the award in summer conditions.

You enjoy walking in the hills. 
It is the minimum qualification required by some Operating Authorities for those wanting to train and lead groups in the expedition section of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme. 
It counts towards the volunteering section of The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
It counts towards the skills section of all three awards in The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
Good for trainee PE teachers.

Must be aged 17 years on enrollment and aged 18 years + to undertake assessments.

Sportsleaders UK Level 3 Award in Basic Expedition Leadership.

A Sportsleaders UK level 3 award for those wishing to get on to the outdoor leadership ladder.
