About this course

You will learn about modern marketing practices relating to search, mobile campaigns, online publishing, content strategy, crowding, digital planning and strategy, and how to apply these in a biotechnology industry.
The knowledge and skills you’ll develop in research will be supplemented by the business acumen you’ll gain through our business modules and the entrepreneurship elements of the course. Depending on your module choices, you will explore leadership and decision making, international business strategy, marketing, strategic and organisational management, and business start-ups – areas of particular importance in the biotech and biopharmaceutical sector.

You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your business skills during a bio-business project, where you will focus your business ideas on a promising bioscience research development, allowing you to apply what you have learned to a real life project.
Our courses provide the framework which can set you on the path to careers embracing options such as clinical trial coordination, regulatory affairs, marketing, management, commercial practice and entrepreneurship. Our graduates can expect to work in small and large multinational companies in the biosciences sphere, or to continue in academic research.

Applicants should normally have, or expect to have, a first or upper second class BSc honours degree or an equivalent qualification in a scientific discipline in the field of biological, biochemical or biomedical sciences.
