Candidates must hold at least a Second Class Honours, Level 8 primary degree in Science or a related subject, with an appropriate background in Biological Sciences. Candidates with three years' relevant and appropriate practical experience may also be considered. IELTS score of 6.0+ (with not less than 5.5 in any one component).

Course outline
The investigative, preparative and analytical scientific techniques that are the foundations of biotechnology are primarily taught via lectures and tutorials through modules in Genetic Technology, Protein Technology, Pharmacology, Quality Management Systems, Bioprocess Technology, Immunotechnology and Business. Students have the opportunity to develop a range of generic skills, such as presentation and teamworking skills. Practical experience is provided through a four-month laboratory-based research project.
