Description
The College of Science is the community of staff and students in the various subject areas relating to Science pursued in the University. At present, the College has more than 2,300 students and 90 Professors and Lecturers, together with technical, secretarial and support staff. Members of the College are to be found on all major University committees, and its activities are carried out in a wide variety of locations around the campus. The staff of the College and its post-graduate students are very active in original research, both pure and applied, across a wide range of scientific areas. The staff and student body play their full part in the world-wide community of scientists working at the frontiers of knowledge and many enjoy a prominent and international reputation in their own fields. There is also much co-operation and interaction with industry and with the surrounding community, both regional and national.
