Entry Requirements

To study on Pathway 1 or 2, scholars are required to gain 4 GCSE’s at Grade 4 (equivalent to Grade C) or above which should include Maths and English. Scholars who do not achieve Maths or English will be required to retake whilst on the Programme. Scholars who do not achieve the 4 GCSE’s will be required to study for Pathway 3.

Delivery and Assessment

Delivery will be split between Sutton Coldfield College and Sutton Coldfield Rugby Club. This will normally be in Morning or Afternoon blocks in order to minimise the travel between the college and the club. The Programme of study utilises the club indoor and outdoor facilities for the practical elements of the programme, whereas the College has the IT and Specialist Fitness, Massage and Classroom Resources for many of the taught units. Assessment will be varied and will include a portfolio of practical activities, case studies, projects, reports, presentations and written presentation. In addition, scholars will have externally-assessed work identified in the chosen pathway.

Progression

On completion of the Level 3 Foundation Diploma you have the opportunity to progress onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport the following year if you have a) achieved and b) attended well.
