This course has been designed for those interested in further developing the Heritage, Design and Artistic aspects of Blacksmithing. Students will work mainly on one piece that incorporates the most commonly used Blacksmithing skills. Students will be encourages to work autonomously with teacher guidance.

What you need to know
How will I study?

The course completes Level 3 qualifications in NCFE L3 Creative Craft and NCFE L3 Art and Design. Alongside this you will be working towards L2 Maths and English.
How will I be taught?

The qualification consists of two days practical and half a day theory. Both practical and theory sessions will incorporate embedded "Enterprise" skills.
How will I be assessed?

The qualification assessment is focused on the design, manufacture and display of a final craft piece of your choice (in agreement with the course tutor). The work will be assessed with written feedback given. Portfolio work must be submitted for assessment.
