Objectives:
Day One: To provide an effective foundation of the theory and practical skills in the methods and techniques of paint refinishing.
Day Two: To provide and demonstrate the advantages of repairing and refinishing plastic components, thus maintaining a high standard of cost effective accident damage repair.
Content:
Day One Content:
· Related Health and Safety in the use of paint materials.
· Refinishing equipment including the correct P.P.E. and spray booths.
· Planning the paint job.
· Degreasing and cleaning.
· Preparation and cleaning of surface to be painted.
· Priming and flatting.
· Fillers and stoppers
· Masking.
· Top coat application.
· Paint blending techniques.
· Paint fault identification and rectification.
Day Two Content:
· Health & Safety.
· Identification of plastics.
· Equipment available.
· Repairing procedures - welding & bonding.
· Cleaning /preparation.
· Fillers & stoppers.
· Adhesion promoters & additives.
· Different types of paint finishing coats. Additional Information:
