Describe the composition, nature and properties of asbestos and other man made mineral fibres (MMMF). Describe the health effects and apply appropriate exposure limits. Advise on the implications of asbestos and MMMF in workplace activities as well as in situ in buildings. Sample and identify asbestos fibres. Conduct air sampling to determine airborne concentrations of asbestos fibres in accordance with HSE approved procedures including the four stage clearance procedure. Advise on containment, removal, disposal and management of asbestos in buildings in accordance with current legislati. Suitable for: Anyone who is in asbestos consultancy as well as main stream occupational hygiene will benefit from this course. Also anyone who wishes to proceed further with gaining Certificate of competency in asbestos

The S301 proficiency course contains a short answer questions examination under the supervision of a BOHS invigilator and a practical assessment undertaken by an independent assessor. Successful delegates are presented with the BOHS proficiency certificate.

The S301 proficiency course contains a short answer questions examination under the supervision of a BOHS invigilator and a practical assessment undertaken by an independent assessor. Successful delegates are presented with the BOHS proficiency certificate.
Also on successul completion of this course delegates will then have the choice to continue further and sit an oral examination directly at BOHS offices. Successful completion of this oral examination will result in the delegate being awarded a certificate of competency is asbestos and they can then use the letter CCP after their name.
AEC can provide a one day course prior to you attending this oral examination. The day will include an assessment of the delegate's strengths and weaknessess and a mock oral examination with feeback and further training if required.
