Who is this course for?
This is the final year of the Modern Apprenticeship programme with the CITB. The course is for learners who have successfully completed Intermediate Construction Award in Brickwork and the NVQ level 2, Employers Rights and Responsibilities, Abrasive Wheels and the CSCS Health and Safety test.

What will I learn?
The course covers the Advanced Construction Award (A.C.A) which will be taught and assessed at college and the NVQ level 3 in Bricklaying which will be assessed in the work place. Being an advance course, the content is directed to co-ordinating the work area and planning and assisting the site supervisor.The A.C.A covers contributing to establishing the operational area, contribute to the progress of operations, assist with the organisations of resources, co-ordinate self and others to erect complex masonry structures and co-ordinate self and others to carry out complex masonry details.The NVQ Level 3 covers confirming the occupational method or work, conforming to general workplace safety, setting out and erecting masonry strutures, confirm work activities and resources for the ork, develop and mainting good working relationships, set out and erect complex masonry structures and erect masontry cladding. You will also be required to complete a Health & Safety test and must successfully complete Key Skills to level 2 in both application of number and communications.

Assessment
Learners will complete a range of practical tasks, projects and written assignments. An external written examination will be completed towards the end of the course. You will produce a portfolio of evidence of your work and will be assessed by an on-site assessor in your workplace.

On Completion Achievement / Progression
On successful completion of this qualification, learners will have completed the Modern Apprenticeship framework and will have fully gained qualified Bricklayer status which can lead you onto a Site Supervisory course such as a National Award or HNC in Construction.
