The course examines the decade 1960-69 from several different angles, and is intended to provoke discussion of the many political, social, cultural and scientific changes that took place during the decade. We will decide how far it is sensible to call this time the “swinging sixties”.

About this course
Decide how far the 1960s brought real and lasting change to the lives of people living in Britain and discuss those events and issues that you believe had the most impact.
There are no additional costs. If you would like to take some notes, do bring a notebook or other means to record key points.
Tutor presentation, group discussion, tutor-guided analysis of documents, images and video clips. You will be
given a short reading list in case you would like to do some additional reading, but this is not necessary to
participation in class discussion.
