British Institute of Innkeeping Awarding Body (BIIAB)/City and Guilds Level 2 National Certificate for Door Supervisors (Scotland)
With effect from November 2009 door stewards will require to obtain a licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). This course is accredited by City and Guilds and is approved by the SIA as a mandatory requirement. The course comprises 2 units: Roles and Responsibilities of Door Supervisors; Conflict Management for Door Supervisors. Subjects will include: policies and procedures; refusing entry; seizing articles; use of force and offensive weapons; defusing and resolving conflict; managing high risk situations
