About the course: Bruce was the best teacher I ever experienced in my early days as a furniture restorer / conservator. He was likeable, friendly and possessed the attributes of having worked in the cabinet making / restoration business, running his own business, acting as a consultant and as principal lecturer at West Dean College. Having graduated from London College of Furniture in 1995 with a City & Guilds in Cabinet Making and HND in Furniture Restoration & Conversation it was soon apparent how little I had been taught so attended Bruce’s short courses, self funded, in order to expand my skills and knowledge in certain areas. In my then capacity as Graduate Spokesman for BAFRA Student / Graduate Section I organised specific courses with Bruce to offer to my membership. These courses were very successful due to the quality of teaching, small group numbers ,facilities , and a well paced and structured programme . The knowledge gained from these courses were instrumental in increasing my confidence when setting up my own business, Andrew A. Matthews Restoration in South Cambridgeshire, UK in 1998
