  • I think the university focuses on the financial aspect a lot more than the educational quality. But the internationals get adapted may be for being paid full fees. There's a lack of evaluation and guidance and also They theory is not covered in depth.

Description

As with our aerospace technology with management degree, this broad-based aviation course has an emphasis on computer-aided engineering – including 3D modelling, computer-aided analysis, simulation and computer-aided manufacture. You’ll develop your practical skills in workshops and well-equipped laboratories, while your piloting skills are developed in the second half of the course through the University’s flight simulators and tuition at a nationally recognised flight centre in the UK or US. There are additional fees for this but at a discounted rate. You’ll also take part in group work, which will enable you to develop your team-working skills and improve your employability.

There are employment opportunities in a variety of areas, ranging from airline operators and large aircraft manufacturers to small aerospace supply chain companies. Jobs vary from Logistics Manager, Quality Engineer, Analyst or Design & Technology Technician. The breadth and flexibility of this course will also open doors to careers in other branches of engineering, technology, computing or business. Students have previously undertaken placements in organisations such as: Inflite Services Virgin Atlantic Engineering British Airways Or numerous smaller companies

What I would highlight: The course and the university both are really good and had a good balance of practical and academics. Its quite disappointing to know that some great professors left the campus. Overall its all good to be here.

What you will learn

In common with our Aerospace Technology with Management degree, this course has an emphasis on computer-aided engineering including 3D modelling, computer-aided analysis simulation and computer-aided manufacture – combined with pilot studies. Your practical skills are developed in workshops and well-equipped laboratories while your piloting skills are developed in the second half of the course through the use of the University’s flight simulators and tuition at a nationally recognised flight centre, either in the UK or USA.

Work Placement

You have the opportunity to spend a year working either in a professional research environment or within industry. The practical experience you gain will be of tremendous benefit both when you resume your studies and when you embark on a career.
