Course programme
Mobile apps and the technologies that power them are changing how we live, work and play. This distinctive programme aims to explore this re-making of our world, through the experience of building mobile apps and through reflection on the business and cultural environment that mobile is both operating in and shaping. We focus on developing a core base of technical competencies and on delivering a more rounded graduate to operate in digital management environments:
Delivered by academics and qualified practitioners who bring up-to-date experience from both mobile development and digital management sectors
Opportunities to develop a small portfolio of personal apps and proposals throughout your studies, to give yourself a head start before entering the marketplace
With low start-up costs of £200 including development software and a licence to publish in stores, app development is a real possibility for all our students
Lays the foundation for working in both mobile development and digital management environments – a hybrid focus valued by employers
Opportunities for work-related learning through a work placement, live project or consultancy
Electives in areas including social enterprise, social media, mobile technologies and cyber-security This degree is designed to provide you with both subject-specific and transferable skills to enable you to work confidently in both app development and mobile management fields. You can find yourself in roles as diverse as: app developer, mobile strategy manager, digital business manager, entrepreneur or continuing to postgraduate study in areas such as digital media, computing or networked business and management. An applicant must normally be 18 years of age at the start of the programme and as a minimum must have obtained:
