Course programme
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a current student and enrolled on this programme prior to 2018/19, you can find the relevant programme structure here.
Students take 120 credits per year composed of core and optional modules, which allows for students to design their own intellectual journey while maintaining a strong grasp of the fundamentals.
The programme has been designed so that second and third year modules build on modules taken in earlier years. In your final year you will complete an Independent Study Project or Dissertation on an agreed topic and take further modules in Middle Eastern and North African finance and it's economy. This programme assumes no knowledge of the language.
Those who have an understanding of the language and want to study Japanese might consider the Year Abroad programme.
Year One- Management in the Middle East and North Africa: Domestic and International Developments
- Introduction to accounting
- Organisational Behaviour
- Principles and management of marketing
- Quantitative and analytical techniques for managers
In addition to the above modules, students select one of the below modules:
- Principles of Management
- Introduction to Arabic Culture
- International business strategy
- Managerial economics
- Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility
- Qualitative and case study research
In addition to the above modules, students select one of the below modules:
- International marketing 1: the environment
- Understanding company accounts and reports
Additionally, students select module(s) to the value of 30 credits from the below:
- Government and politics of the Middle East
Alternatively, students may select Open Option module(s) to the value of 30 credits
Year Three- Financial strategy
- FINANCE IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA
- CONTEMPORARY ISSUES IN THE MIDDLE EASTERN AND NORTH AFRICAN ECONOMIES
- Independent study project in international management
In addition to the above modules, students select modules to the value of 45 credits from the below*:
